OXYCREATES
The intention behind OxyCreates is to provide a no-cost, non-commercial option for Occidental students, faculty, organizations, and projects that would like a dedicated web presence. Unlike with third-party publishers, you alone own the content in OxyCreates and can shape how it looks, feels, and the terms under which it is re-used. Oxy ITS and CDLA staff in conjunction with our web host vendor, Reclaim Hosting, support the back-end infrastructure and help answer your questions, but you choose your own domain name and make every decision about how you want to manage your websites and online presence – you have the full set of keys to manage your own domain.
We hope that OxyCreates also triggers questions about what it means to manage your own identity on the web versus what it means to use third-party services like Facebook, LinkedIn, Squarespace, Wix,
