Import a quiz to course A from a backup file of course B

This method helps save the quizzes in the private backup system and allow you to download and store the quizzes in your personal computer for future use, in case of course deletion or online data loss. Also, this method allows quizzes from different courses to be imported quickly at once if all the backup files have been created. If you have all the backup files from other courses on your personal hardware, please skip to step 6.

  1. Go to course B that contain the quiz(zes) and backup the quiz files by choosing backup under the Course Administration panel.
    9
  2. In the Backup Settings, “Include activity and resources” and “Include question bank” need to be ticked. The other categories can be or not be chosen at your convenience. Click next at the bottom of the page to proceed to the next step.

  3. Choose none so that the page deselects all the contents, then choose the section that contain the quiz(zes) and the quiz(zes). Click next at the bottom of the page after all the quiz(zes) has been chosen. If you choose to backup some quizzes together, so that when using this file to restore to a course, all these quizzes will be imported to that course together in the same settings.
